How to Use Ad Spot

Our Ad Spot tool lets you explore millions of Facebook ads tailored to your chosen filters.

While you can access the Facebook or Meta ads library directly from Facebook, it doesn’t allow you to search ads by the number of likes, comments, or shares.

We collect millions of ads to help you discover what resonates on Facebook.


There are two ways to access our Ad Spot tool: either click the blue Ad Spot button on the homepage or use the link in the control panel on the left.

You will find yourself on this page:

Now, there are several filters that you can toggle and some boxes you can fill out. Let us start with the boxes highlighted below:

Here are the definitions of each area:

  • Ad Copy – these are keywords found in the title or body of the ad copy. If you type the word “drone,” the system will look for all ads that have the word “drone” in them. You can use several keywords—just separate them with commas.

  • Page Name or Page ID – type a page name in this box, and the system will only search for ads launched by that page or business.

  • Domain Name – you can use a URL to find ads launched by that domain, provided that the business owners put their domain name on their Facebook page.


Now, let us look at the slider area:

You can search the ad library based on the ad types: video, photo, or carousel. If you select Video, the Ad Spot tool only searches for video ads and ignores the rest.

Below the options are the engagement sliders. These are:

  • Reactions

  • Comments

  • Shares

  • Video Length

Use these sliders to set a minimum and maximum number. For example, if you set the Reaction slider to 1,000 to 5,000, the Ad Spot tool will only look for ads with a reaction count between 1,000 and 5,000.

All these sliders, coupled with the keywords you typed, will be considered by Ad Spot when researching for ads. This way, the result will only show ads that meet all the selected conditions.

Finally, you can select the final parameters before clicking the SEARCH button.

Here are the choices:

  • Ad Creation Date – choose a range of dates that the ad launched. If you want recent ads, choose recent dates.

  • Call to Action – search ads based on the call-to-action that the advertiser used. Some examples are Shop Now, Learn More, Send Message, Book Now, Order Now, etc.

  • Website Provider – you can search for ads based on the store platform of the advertiser. Some examples are Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce, Spring, etc.

  • Ad Copy Language – choose the ad language such as English, Afrikaans, Korean, etc.

The final option is the domain TLD such as .com, .academy, .ai, etc. Once all selections are set, click on the blue SEARCH button.

If you want to learn more, click on the icons at the top right of the ad thumbnail.

The buttons are:

  • Facebook – will take you to the ad stats in the ad library.

  • Arrow – will take you to the URL or website of the advertiser

  • View More – will show you more details about the ad

If you click on View More, this is what you will see:

If you scroll down, you will see this:

The line on the graph represents the engagement for the ad.


If you searched for a video ad, you could play the video and get ideas on how to make your video ad. Just click on the PLAY icon to watch it.

From this page, you can also view the store’s social media pages, apps, website, and then you can subsequently track this store in our competitor tracker.
